Position overview

ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the School of Medicine and Psychology, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the Research School of Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

This role will be based within the School of Medicine and Psychology and be part of a new team with a mission is to develop innovative and effective mental health treatment options, harnessing neuroscience technology to markedly improve outcomes for people experiencing ongoing mental health and neurological difficulties. The research fellow will be expected to conduct studies in collaboration with other investigators, to initiate independent studies with appropriate support and supervision and to provide supervision to students and more junior research staff.

To be successful in the position, you will have experience in applied/human neuroscience techniques, preferably EEG and all non-invasive brain as well as experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or neurological. Excellent communication skills to be able to discuss complex research topics with participants and/or their family members in a sensitive professional manner will also be required.
