Roles and Responsibilities

If you’re dynamic and analytical, we’re looking for you! The Office of Global Programmes in SUSS takes care of all full-time SUSS undergraduates’ overseas programmes, as well as inbound programmes for visiting undergraduates from abroad. You need to be an independent worker who thrives on minimal supervision, interested in local and world affairs, and always bursting with new ideas and striving to give your best to others. Working with young people should excite you, but working with data should also not bore you to tears.​

Job Description

  • Assist in the administration of credit-bearing overseas study courses, which includes travel within Asia;
  • Co-write proposals, create reports, review and explain data trends, formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations;
  • Assist in organising and/or participating in student equipping activities that may include the design, marketing and development of non-credit bearing programmes (e.g. local summer/winter programmes), the facilitation of student learning, and the evaluation of programme effectiveness;
  • Assist in the assessment and review of students' global learning reports;
  • Complete routine administrative tasks required for related global programmes;
  • Analyse, develop and/ revise global programmes' policies and standard operating procedures;
  • Occasionally mentor, coach or advise students in their global learning journey.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience is preferred. 
  • Experienced in project management – well-versed in efficiently and independently managing several projects at one time. High attention to detail and meticulousness; enjoys logistics and coordinating multiple programmes from start to finish.
  • Analytical & efficient in data management – able to think critically on how to create more effective work processes for the department.  Excellence in Microsoft Office, especially word processing and spreadsheets
  • A strong communicator – writing to achieve different goals should be second nature to you. These may include proposals, reports and newsletters. 
  • Dynamic in people management – comfortable with speaking with a wide range of people and nationalities, and working across departments.  Efficient and sharp coordination is needed with internal and external parties.
  • Creative in programme design and marketing – able to push creative boundaries for work excellence.
  • Candidates with a basic university degree (esp. Business, Language, Political Science etc) are welcome to apply for this role. 
  • Professional or volunteer experience and knowledge in the areas of entrepreneurship or social innovation, sustainability, and community building, or youth engagement would also be preferred.
