About the Centre for Quantum Technologies

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) is a research centre of excellence in Singapore. It brings together physicists, computer scientists and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena. Experts in this new discipline of quantum technologies are applying their discoveries in computing, communications, and sensing.

CQT is hosted by the National University of Singapore and also has staff at Nanyang Technological University. With some 180 researchers and students, it offers a friendly and international work environment.

Job Description The research to be undertaken will be in relation to ongoing group research projects in the area on resource efficient quantum algorithms for quantum machine learning and optimization for applications in finance, supply chain and chemistry. The work  will involve the application and development of numerical and analytical methods as well as the use of cloud quantum hardware and simulators where the developed quantum algorithms will be implemented.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Physics or ECE or Maths
  • Strong background in the modelling of physical systems
  • Good knowledge of quantum mechanics
  • Exposure to quantum information and computation concepts
  • Numerical simulation experience ideally with Python
  • Exposure to one or more quantum programming languages (qiskit, cirq or others)
  • Good communication skills so as to effectively communicate with stake holders both inside and outside the team and bring convergence to design decisions.
