Job Description

The Mechanobiology Institute, Singapore is a multi-disciplinary institute committed to develop new paradigms for biomedical research by focusing on the quantitative analysis of dynamic functional processes. Through quantitative biophysical approaches, we address major problems in biomedical sciences including pathogenesis (from bacterial to cancer), tissue regeneration and function.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join as a Research Assistant in the Hirashima lab at Mechanobiology Institute, NUS to embark on an interdisciplinary project aimed at understanding mechano-chemical coupling system in mammalian development and reproduction. Candidates are expected to have fundamental knowledge and skills in cell and developmental biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage the lab both in technical aspects as well as administrative aspects in the areas of procurement, budget management, risk assessments and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc in life science or biomedical disciplines
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a research lab (including the Final Year Hons project/Undergraduate project).
  • Experience in cell and tissue culture, protein biochemistry and molecular biology. Experience in microscopy and/or mouse handling is not a prerequisite but can be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
