QUB – Professor in Computer Science

Queen's University Belfast is one of the leading universities in the UK and Ireland with a distinguished heritage and history. Founded in 1845 as Queen's College Belfast, we became an independent university in 1908. Today, we are ranked 85 in the world (Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022) and are a member of the Russell Group of UK research intensive universities, combining excellence in research and education with a student-centred ethos.

As the largest and one of the most dynamic schools in the University, the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is in a position to invest and grow, making a real impact regionally and internationally. Our ECIT Institute will develop into a £55m Global Innovation Institute (GII) Programme as part of the Belfast Region City Deal (BRCD), untapping the future of digitalisation, sustainability and health. The School is investing and building a true multidisciplinary environment with world-class facilities.

The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is now welcoming multiple applications across a broad range of themes including Artificial Intelligence and Computing Systems. We are looking for motivated and passionate academics in Computer Science who will excel in contributing to the ambition of the University in terms of transforming Northern Ireland’s digital innovation. The post holders are expected to drive forward an ambitious research agenda, contribute or lead University-wide efforts to establish Queen’s as an international leader in Artificial Intelligence and Computing Systems research, and apply research to address global challenges, complimenting the development of the Global Innovation Institute (GII).
