We are hunting for a tenacious IT Support Technician to help for a new team dedicated to providing face-to-face technology support and advice to the University’s community of over 25,000 staff and students at our new building in the heart of Southampton.
About the Role
You will be delivering face-to-face and remote support to our students, staff and world-renowned academics as well as troubleshooting the audio-visual equipment in the local teaching spaces to ensure everyone can get the best out of the available technology.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic IT technician who wants to learn new skills and progress within the field. This is a meaningful role where you will be supporting the world-changing research and teaching the University undertakes.
Location: Southampton City Centre (With requirement to travel to/work at other campuses when necessary)
What you’ll do
- Provide outstanding face-to-face and remote technology support to our customers, including assisting them in enabling their own devices to access the plethora of services and resources the University has to offer.
- Support AV systems and hot desks in teaching spaces, meeting rooms and shared work areas.
- Take ownership of support incidents and use your troubleshooting skills to see them through to resolution.
- Provide advice and guidance that enables our customers to harness the full power of the available technology.
