Applications are invited for the post of Chief Academic Officer, CHI and Head of Paediatric Health Affairs

"The CAO / Head of Paediatric Health Affairs (HPHA) will lead on the further development of scholarly interest and focus in child health across the PAHSC Partnership. In CHI, the CAO/HPHA will provide clinical academic leadership, ensure hospital strategy and policy is aligned to the academic vision of the CHI-API Partnership and drive future clinical academic developments.

In the universities, the CAO/HPHA will provide leadership and direction in relation to all aspects of relevant paediatric research and education, ensure synergy between the various paediatric disciplines and drive the optimal interaction and collaboration between university researchers and relevant clinical services in CHI. The CHI-API Partnership comprises one Hospital (CHI) and four University Partners (UCD/TCD/RCSI/DCU) with a mix of undergraduate programmes in key disciplines - including Nursing, Medicine, Dental, Midwifery, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy; and related postgraduate research and further education degree programmes.

The CAO / HPHA will be responsible for Education, Research, Innovation and advising on services and dedicated paediatric facilities within CHI-API Partnership. The post-holder will be a member of the senior management team of CHI and will actively engage with the senior management teams of the Academic Partners in pursuit of the PAHSC vision, facilitated by the senior link in each university.

The CAO / HPHA is a pivotal post in ensuring that the health, education, research and innovation, and associated faculties and pertinent services in CHI and the Universities work together in a fully coordinated way."
