The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH) within the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences of the University of Melbourne, is seeking a Director for the Nossal Institute for Global Health and Chair of Global Health.

You will direct the Institute, playing the central leadership role in development of its appointments, programs, priorities, organisation, processes, profile, staff and partners. The Director will also be Managing Director of the Institute’s University-owned subsidiary company, and Institute’s contracting arm, Nossal Institute Limited.

The Director will report to the Head of the MSPGH and as Managing Director to the Chair of Nossal Institute Limited.

About You

You will be an outstanding, internationally recognised global health leader, as demonstrated through contributions in your field and Commitment to the highest standards of scientific and ethical integrity.

You will possess;

  • PhD or equivalent in a health or related discipline, or a medical degree plus other public health or global health postgraduate qualification (e.g. MPH).
  • High-level international recognition as a leader in analysis, development and evaluation of public policy in global health.
  • Demonstrated outstanding capacity for engagement and advocacy on global health research and policy issues at national and international levels with professional, technical, government, NGO and other donor and funding agencies. Specifically, this would be visible through evidence of connection to and recognition by the global health community.

Established in 1998, the Nossal Institute for Global Health, including its not-for-profit subsidiary company the Nossal Institute Limited, is positioned within the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. The company enables the Nossal Institute to rapidly administer consulting services by providing finance, project management and human resource support.
