The Discipline of Optometry at the University of Canberra is going through a period of exciting growth. We are seeking applicants for a Senior Lecturer position who would relish the opportunity of creating novel and innovative teaching and learning programs in a new optometry school. The applicant will also have the opportunity to join multidisciplinary research teams in the Faculty and University

Reporting to the Discipline Lead, the successful applicant will drive the delivery of high-quality teaching in the specialist areas of clinical practice such as contact lenses, binocular vision, sports vision. The successful applicant will also have the capacity and experience to supervise higher degree research students to Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy level.

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in optometry (or a related field) with extensive clinical experience and evidence of teaching quality and innovation. It is desirable to hold a registration with AHPRA as an optometrist in Australia as well as an endorsement to prescribe ocular therapeutic drugs in Australia.

Previous teaching experience in areas including optics, binocular vision, sports vision, ocular therapeutics, advanced contact lenses is highly desirable.
