Grade 10 – competitive salary plus excellent benefits

Keele University is a world class campus-based university committed to providing the highest quality learning and living environment in which our students and staff can flourish. The University is renowned for its exciting approach to higher education, innovative research, beautiful campus, commitment to sustainability, strong community spirit and excellent student experience.

With a turnover in excess of £170 million, over 10,000 students and a total staff of approximately 2,000, the University provides high quality teaching across a wide range of academic and vocational subjects. Keele has ambitious plans for its future growth and development, building upon its reputation as a research-led campus University with a broad academic base.

We are now seeking to appoint an experienced finance leader to the new role of Associate Director, Finance Transformation and Customer Service.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer to transform systems, processes and ways of working across the Finance Directorate, focused on delivering outstanding customer service. The post holder will be responsible, in partnership with senior Finance colleagues, for the strategic and operational oversight and continuous improvement of the full range of financial services across the University.

You will be a CCAB-qualified finance leader with experience of managing finance teams and delivering large scale finance change programmes, ideally within higher education or a similarly complex environment. You will also have experience of delivering process efficiencies whilst maintaining a sharp focus on customer service excellence. You will be an outstanding communicator, able to persuade and influence at all levels, and will be resilient, adaptable, agile, with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Above all, you must be action oriented – this role is about delivering and embedding real change across Finance systems, processes, culture and service.

Company

Keele University was founded more than 60 years ago on the belief that they met the demands of a new kind of society, economy and world. The university feels these principles resonate now more than ever.

Nestled in 600 acres of countryside in the heart of the UK, Keele is the largest campus based university and has a cosmopolitan community, with more than 150 clubs and societies to join, as well as shops, cafes, bars, an award-winning Students’ Union and a health centre.

Keele University delivers a range of academic courses and research across a variety of subjects, from health and humanities to social and natural sciences. They teach in small groups, provide one-to-one access to their academics and value the quality of their teaching as highly as their research.

Over the last decade, the university has invested over £140 million into the campus, including a £2.7 million transformation at the centre of campus. The university offers more than 3,000 bedrooms on campus and is hoping to increase this to over 4,000 over the next few years.

Keele University successively ranks at the very top of student satisfaction surveys.

Whatever your area of study, their distinctive and flexible approach to teaching and learning will open your mind to challenge and build a broader based knowledge.
