Salary: £29,614-£35,326

Reference: LF32495

Closing date: 25 August 2022

Would you like to be involved in running one of the largest Masters courses in Cambridge? The Part III Course Co-ordinator in the Faculty of Mathematics provides direct support for the Director of Taught Postgraduate Education in the delivery, as well as ongoing review and development, of this unique course.

Part III is a world-famous postgraduate course which is taught primarily through an unparalleled number of lecture courses spanning all aspects of mathematics and theoretical physics. Around 1000 students from all around the world apply to Part III (Master of Advanced Study) and join those continuing from the undergraduate Batchelor's degree for a fourth year (Master of Mathematics).

You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of a course with up to 300 students per year. Key skills include managing the annual cycle of the course with awareness of milestones and deadlines; being meticulous, accurate, and organised in maintaining records; reviewing and developing the required administration systems and procedures; and working collaboratively with both the Faculty Undergraduate and Postgraduate Offices. You will be responsible for data management and analysis to enable strategic planning; evaluation of the course (including student and academic feedback); and publicity/promotion of the course. Some aspects of course administration, including admissions, are supported by other members of the postgraduate office team.

The successful candidate should be educated to degree level/Level 6 vocational qualification or equivalent level of practical experience as well as having experience working in an administrative or project management role. You should have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the interpersonal expertise required for interacting effectively with academics, administrators and students. Outstanding organisational and time management skills are essential for dealing with workload peaks, particularly at the start of the academic year, together with excellent IT skills including familiarity with standard text-processing and spreadsheet applications.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for flexible, hybrid working arrangements with the option of working from home for some of the time.
