About You

As an Associate Director, Planning and Performance, you will be responsible for the provision of high-level advice and executive support to the General Manager, College Operations. This will include providing strategic advice on specific initiatives, supporting the achievement of the portfolio's strategic and annual operating planning process. You will have oversight of key College wide activities including annual planning and activities that drive the success of the College, providing project leadership, thought leadership and status updates to the College Executive.

The Associate Director will work alongside other senior leaders in enablement functions to operationalise the strategic annual plan and College of VE roadmap. This may include synthesis of information, data analysis and developing papers and responses to both internal and external audiences. In addition, you will be required to brief the General Manager, College Operations and Executives on any follow up actions arising from meetings and committees as required and will represent the College at broader RMIT working groups and ensure that the College of VE has a voice in decision making processes.

As Associate Director you will utilise problem-solving, analytical and proactive skills, and have the ability to analyse data and develop recommendations and key insights. In addition, your ability to create compelling presentations and articulate ideas will be valuable for this position.

Your excellent communication skills and proven ability to liaise and influence internal and external stakeholders and represent the college are crucial to succeeding in this role.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

  • Extensive experience in providing high-level analytical and operational support at Senior Leader or Executive level.
  • Highly developed organizational, analytical and future oriented approach with evidence of managing complex issues.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance, in a collaborative team environment and with a strong understanding of matrix structures.
  • Proven track record of successful project management.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work in a pressured environment requiring flexibility and collaborative decision making to achieve deadlines.
  • High level of data literacy, including ability to manipulate data and develop visual dashboards
  • High level of professionalism, discretion and diplomacy to effectively deal with sensitive and difficult issues.
