We are happy to be recruiting a temporary vacancy within our Business Partnering team. The University, and particularly finance is undergoing a large change agenda, modernising, and improving systems and processes and this role is a transitional role to ensure we continue to provide an excellent customer focused finance support while we implement the changes.  

Successful applicants will be based on the Avery Hill Campus but there may be opportunities to be based at our other campus in Medway. The Finance Business Partner will report to the Head of Business Partnering and will be focused on providing financial support to our Faculties and Directorates.   

The role will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Faculty / Directorate senior leadership team to provide financial and business insight and challenge to decision making on a cross-section of commercial, financial, accounting activities and projects. The role holder will also be responsible for building and completing the required submissions around budgets and forecasting periodically and for supporting the production of Faculty and Directorate monthly and quarterly finance management reporting packs, including insightful analysis as required.   

The role would suit applicants who are able to demonstrate financial, commercial, and business acumen including strong interpersonal skills.   The candidate should also have excellent interpersonal skills/ emotional intelligence with the ability to constructively challenge at senior manager level.  This role will suit someone who is qualified and has experience of budgeting, forecasting, and modelling revenue data who wants to be part of a dynamic team focused on continuous improvement and modernisation of processes and systems. 

You will work flexibly to provide support and assistance across a range of customer facing and analytical activities, contributing to a consistent, professional, and welcoming service and ensuring we continue to deliver the required standards of operation as a team in a period of change and transition.
