Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) of Lingnan University is looking for an experienced researcher to implement a research and community project on informal carers and ageing in place.

General Requirements

Applicants should

  1. have a doctoral degree in Social Policy, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Public Administration or related fields;
  2. have experiences in analyzing research data;
  3. have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese,
  4. be proficient in computer software (e.g. MS Office, SPSS);
  5. have good organizational and interpersonal skills.

The appointee will be responsible for

  • arranging young people to visit and support carers;
  • analysing research data, and writing research reports and journal articles;
  • preparing grant and book proposals; and
  • liaising with social services agencies.

Appointment

The conditions of appointments will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointees. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to 17 months.
