THE POST – Security Patrol Attendant
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Department for a Campus Security Patrol Attendant to join the team. Operating under the direction of the Security Team Leader, the post holder will implement the University’s security procedures ensuring that all stakeholders have a safe and welcoming environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of professional, flexible, and reliable in-house security, safety and traffic management services to all staff, students and visitors and university properties across the university campus. They will be visible, maintain a high profile with customers and staff and personally take action to resolve security issues and deliver an excellent support service to enhance the student experience. The postholder will provide practical support to and respond to fire alarms, building alarms, safe zone activations and emergency situations also providing first aid, evacuation chair and evacuation lift support, when appropriately trained to do so.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • A good general education is required with three standard grade qualifications (preferably including English and Maths) or equivalent  
  • Current valid qualification in First Aid at Work or willing to work towards this
  • Experience of working in a customer focused role with front of house responsibilities. 
  • Experience of providing professional and customer focused security services.
  • Knowledge or ability to carry out various routine security duties with experience in a similar role and environment.  
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding the needs of the customer within a Higher Education environment or similar. 
  • Ability to communicate with customers and colleagues in a professional and polite manner.
  • Ability to make clear, accurate written and oral reports
  • Computer literacy to a basic level. 
  • Ability to use mobile devises in conjunction with the delivery of security services. 
  • Current Driving Licence
