Research Fellow, Virtual and Augmented Reality
The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow to join the RIED team on our exciting programme to Re-Imagine Engineering Design. Our vision is to create a smart integrated design methodology that generates product and manufacturing systems simultaneously.
As part of the research team you will develop experiments and prototypes at the frontier of artificial intelligence, human computer interaction and visualisation research. This will be used to test the hypothesis that an enhanced efficiency and delivery of a wide variety of services may be achieved using VR/AR as the enabling technology. It will also be necessary to couple artificial intelligence to any developed scenario, so that a personalised experience can be achieved based on the preferences of the human user.
You will need to engage with research topics and cover new domains quickly; build deep expertise with appropriate data, techniques and tools and apply high standards to the research code you develop.
The RIED Team operates on a foundation of inclusivity and openness, and you will have opportunity to be part of an exemplary team environment and a career development programme with an exceptional technical and leadership experience.
This post is available on a fixed term contract for 36 months
