Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Electrical Engineering/Data Science and Big Data Technology

Applications are invited for 2 full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professors in Electrical Engineering/Data Science and Big Data Technology/Control Science and Engineering/Instrument Science and Technology/Robotics Engineering/Mechatronics at School of Automation, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST).

Description:

The School of Automation has six undergraduate majors: Automation, Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Data Science and Big Data Technology, Robotics Engineering, and Mechanical and Electronic Engineering. There are three Master degree programs in Control Science and Engineering, Electronic Information and Machinery. Additionally, it has a PhD degree program in Environmental Perception and Intelligent Control. The School currently has 1977 undergraduate and 637 postgraduate students. Three majors were selected as the national first-class undergraduate majors, namely, Automation, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrument as well as Electrical Engineering and Automation.

There are 123 faculty and staff members in the School, among whom 96% have doctor’s degrees and 58% have overseas learning or working experiences for no less than one year. The school has established some scientific research laboratories such as Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Big Data Analysis Technology, Jiangsu Engineering Research Center on Meteorological Energy Using and Control , Jiangsu Collaborative Innovation Center of Atmospheric Environment and Equipment Technology, Jiangsu Province Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Meteorological Exploration Robot. In the past five years, the School has chaired over 200 national-level research programs. The total amount of funds is more than 100 million CNY. The faculties have published 600 high quality papers.

The post is based in the modern city of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, with easy access to public transportation, international airports, convenient stores, hospitals etc.

Main Responsibilities:

The appointee is expected to teach courses and do research in Electrical Engineering/Data Science and Big Data Technology/Control Science and Engineering/Instrument Science and Technology/Robotics Engineering/Mechatronics.

Person Specification:

Essential

• PhD or equivalent degree in  Electrical Engineering/Data Science and Big Data Technology/Control Science and Engineering/Instrument Science and Technology/Robotics Engineering/Mechatronics
• Appropriate research experience
• High proficiency in English
• Teaching ability in  related fields

Desirable

• Postdoctoral experience
• University level teaching experience.
• Teaching expertise in Electrical Engineering/Data Science and Big Data Technology/Control Science and Engineering/Instrument Science and Technology/Robotics Engineering/Mechatronics
• Experienced in research of related disciplines

Salary:

Annual salary of RMB 350,000-1000,000 RMB (before tax), with a settling-in allowance of 100,000+ RMB (RMB) depending on qualifications and experience;

Social Insurance;

International travel allowance of 10,000-15,000 RMB per year.

For outstanding candidates, the salary and welfare are negotiable.
