Research, innovation, and entrepreneurship activities are core elements of the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford. Our internationally renowned applied health activities undertaken in partnership with the NHS and other stakeholders are impacting positively on health outcomes locally and regionally and contributing to knowledge of international significance.

Colleagues from our faculty helped establish the Born in Bradford cohort study and continue to lead many of its recent developments.  The University has invested significantly in high-quality research facilities and space such as the Digital Health Enterprise Zone (in collaboration with the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council), and the Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research (in collaboration with the University of Leeds, Bradford Institute for Health Research, and the Wolfson Institute).   In the last financial year, the faculty achieved the largest growth in research and innovation income over the last 5ys seeing its contribution the University portfolio grow to almost 20%. To support and sustain this development we are now looking for an individual to take on the newly created role of faculty Enterprise and Research development and delivery officer (ERDDO).

The person appointed to this new role will work closely with the Associate Dean Research and Innovation in the Faculty of Health Studies (FoHS). You will continue to support colleagues through the acceptance of award / contracting and ongoing management of said projects. To achieve this, you will need to liaise with academic colleagues, external partners and funders, the Research Support Officers and Contracts Managers in Research and Innovation support (RaIS) as well as colleagues in Finance and Human Resources to provide a high quality and seamless service.

You will be a highly professional team player with good management, communication and planning skills and ideally some experience of supporting the development of bids and applications. You will need to develop a knowledge and understanding of the funding landscape, faculty research and innovation activities and monitor pertinent funding calls and emerging collaborative opportunities. You will value accuracy and be committed to data driven improvements of our activities.

We welcome applicants who identify as BAME, neurodiverse and/or LGBT+ and value diverse voices and lived experiences.

Informal enquiries about the role should be addressed to Prof Marina Bloj, Associate Dean Research and Innovation (FoHS) on m.bloj@bradford.ac.uk .
