Research Fellow (Pharmacology - Office of Postdoctoral Affairs)

Job Description

We are looking to hire one full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join us at the Department of Pharmacology, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The postdoc will work on (1) several education related research projects, and (2) will take on an administrative role at the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, NUSMed to promote collaborations locally and internationally to facilitate greater networking and training opportunities for our postdoctoral fellows at NUSMed. We are keen on working with a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow who can balance both the roles of an independent researcher and an administrator.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellowship will provide an excellent opportunity for postdoctoral fellows keen to transition into administration and/or education. You will receive relevant training and support to develop your skills and to conduct research that can impact our learners and the learning environment. There may also be opportunities to teach and guide undergraduates students in some classes at the National University of Singapore during the fellowship. Appointment Period

The postdoc will have funding from July 2022 to March 2024. Candidate should preferably start in Jul 2022.

In their administrative role, they would be asked to support the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs’ efforts to provide our postdoctoral fellows greater

  1. opportunities for Networking and Collaboration
  2. opportunities for Professional and Personal development

They will also have plenty of opportunities to innovate and drive new programs and ideas to help the Office perform its role more effectively.

The time spent in the two roles as a researcher and an administrator will be divided equally.

Qualifications

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be primarily based at the National University of Singapore in Singapore. In the capacity of a researcher, the role of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow is to design and conduct studies and surveys and critically analyse the data and consolidate their findings for publication purposes and as needed.  Statistical analysis skills will be an advantage. They should be relatively well-verse in all, if not most, of these skills. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow may in their course of work be expected to interact closely with students, school administrators and other research teams.

An educational background in Biomedical Sciences, Psychology or Education would be advantageous.
