The School of Science, Auckland University of Technology, is seeking to make a full-time permanent appointment at the level of Associate Professor/Professor with expertise in one or more of the following medical laboratory science specialisations: medical microbiology, transfusion science, pathology, immunology, and diagnostic genetics. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to contribute and provide leadership to the future growth and development of medical laboratory science at AUT.

The successful applicants will be appointed to the Department of Biomedicine and Medical Diagnostics in the School of Science/Te Kura Pūtaiao in the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences. This position is based on AUT's City Campus.

Auckland University of Technology is a leading provider of education in medical laboratory science at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The School of Science is committed to advancing a Te Tiriti-honouring curriculum. The appointee will contribute to this kaupapa, through the recognition and advancement of responsibility and obligation under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and by promoting these aspirations in the teaching and learning strategies.

Appointees will have a PhD in a relevant area and a strong research background in one or more of the discipline areas listed, which they will develop at AUT. Appointees will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and provide leadership to the future development of education and research programmes. Salary Range:

• Associate Professor: $134,000 - $156,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
• Professor: $147,000 - $190,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
