Research Technician in the Division of Biology, Dr. Mohamed Al- Sayegh
Applications are invited for a Research Technician position in the group of Dr. Mohamed Al-Sayegh. The group is studying development of adipose tissue.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in biology or related-field with minimum of 2 years of research experience (post will not be suitable for PhD holders). Experience required include technical handling of mammalian tissue culture (basic cell lines), molecular biology skills (i.e. RNA/DNA extractions, qPCR, sub-cloning skills, etc....), immunostaining and microscopy. Candidate will also be expected to have knowledge of computer skills as well as good written and communication skills. Experience in handling embryonic, induced, and/or adult stem cells is a plus but not required.
The Research Technician will take part in conducting several projects related to stem cells, adipose tissue development and genomic analysis (RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, SC-RNA-Seq). The Research Technician will be actively involved in the process of project design, data generation and analysis. In parallel to scientific research, the Research Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the lab including oversight of wet lab activities, careful and efficient conductance of molecular and cell biology experiment in support of various lab projects, ordering for the lab and providing administrative support.
The appointment will be for two years starting August 2022. Competitive salary and benefits packages are available. Funds are also available for travel to conferences and collaborative endeavors.
