About the opportunity

The Sydney Future Students Prospective Student Visa and GTE Compliance Officer will support compliance with internal and external obligations as it relates to future students. The role will work across recruitment and admissions teams within Sydney Future Students to assess Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) risk from prospective students.

The incumbent will conduct GTE checks on all direct applicants as per defined procedures and support the back-to-source verification processes as required. This role also contributes to the holistic management and continuous improvement of the University's operational prospective student visa compliance as well as supporting the improvement of its commercial aspects balanced against risk. This role will work alongside the international agent facing recruitment team to effectively manage international regulatory compliance requirements and University policies and procedures. The role will collate visa intelligence and trends from markets, including from Posts and Home Affairs, to inform decision making, mitigate risk and communicate this via timely reports to the Director, International and other key stakeholders.

  • worked in a similar role with knowledge in student visas and GTE assessments
  • highly detail oriented with an analytical approach to assessments
  • proficient stakeholder management across internal stakeholder
  • strong written and verbal communication by way of objective speech.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
