The Department of Economics announces up to one Special Scientist position for part-time or full-time employment at the internal research programme «The Role of Social Interactions and Formal Institutions on Information Aggregation».


The Special Scientist will be responsible to assist in the design and conduct of laboratory experiments, the analysis of collected data, and the writing of papers that aim at being published in international academic journals.


  • The applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree (BSc, BA) in Economics, or in a related discipline, in which they have acquired experience in the analysis of mathematical models and of data.
  • Very good command of the English language.
  • High academic performance and an inclination towards research.


  • Good knowledge of Microeconomic Theory, Game Theory and/or Experimental Economics will be considered an advantage.
  • Experience in conducting laboratory experiments in economics will be considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of econometrics methods and experience with relevant data analysis software (e.g. STATA) will be considered an advantage.


Part-time contract for a period of up to 4 months. The proposed starting date is the 1st of September 2022. The monthly gross salary ranges from €870 to €1300 (depending on employment duration, working hours and the qualifications of the employee). Employee contributions to the various Governmental Funds will be subtracted from this amount. The position does not include a 13th Salary bonus.
