Job Description

To assist investigators in conducting a large-scale lifestyle intervention study according to study protocol, Singapore Guideline for Good Clinical Practice (SGGCP) and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirements as well as hospital policies.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct lifestyle intervention with elderly research participant.
  • Refining / optimising the protocols/materials for muscle strengthening training
  • Conduct muscle strengthening classes and providing guidance on aerobic exercises suitable for the elderly by either remote session via zoom or  face to face sessions in the gym.
  • Deliver workshop based education on cognitive health and nutrition as  a holistic program to research subjects.
  • To train other staff members to conduct or support exercise sessions.
  • Support the development and preparation of the material and content for the lifestyle intervention.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform other delegated procedures and data collection as required by the study protocol.
  • Maintain the research database and various operationally related tracking logs.
  • Schedule appointments with research participants to attend the intervention sessions, including technical support with subjects on the use of tablet and zoom before the interventional session
  • Monitoring and maintaining the subjects’ compliance to the intervention
  • Maintain confidentiality on subjects’ data
  • Provide regular updates to investigators and manager(s) for study-related issues

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the study team with recruitment and other procedures
  • Support data analysis and manuscript writing
  • Compliance with the SGGCP and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirements as well as hospital policies if applicable
  • Assist the Principal Investigator in applying to the NHG Domain Specific Review Board (DSRB) or Institutional Review Board (IRB) for ethics review and to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for clinical trial certificates (if required)
  • Clinical research administration (if required)
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned by the PI/Manager

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or Sport related area.
  • Experience or interest in conducting muscle strengthening intervention with seniors

Skills:

  • Bilingual – English and Mandarin (as some elderly may not be able to converse in English)
  • Able to work independently and meticulously
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Team player
