With a clear focus on creating and maintaining its unique position in the research landscape as a high performing university of technology, UTS has a distinct culture of research excellence, collegiality, and innovative impact.

At the TD School (formerly the Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation), industry and public sector engagement are at the heart of the School’s teaching and research. With a pan university role, the TD School is independent from the University’s faculty structure. The School delivers TD elective programs to all UTS undergraduate students and is the home of the internationally acclaimed Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation degree. The next Head will have responsibility for the strategic and academic leadership of the TD School. Innovation in academic work and futures will be an important aspect of the role, facilitating the ongoing development of people and processes through innovative, creative and entrepreneurial educational practices. The Head of the TD School will play a critical role in driving effective internal collaboration across the University and will drive engagement with industry, government, the professions and communities to maximise teaching, learning and research outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this appointment will be an outstanding transdisciplinary scholar with a genuine commitment to fostering innovative and collaborative partnerships across the University and with industry and government. Candidates with the ability to work effectively and with confidence to find the innovative spaces between the University’s disciplines are encouraged to apply for this senior leadership appointment.
