Job Description

  • Assist with data collection and algorithm development (e.g., natural language processing)
  • Collect data from resources of various languages. Data collection will include implementing automated downloading from public sources, such as social media
  • Analyze data - use computational linguistic and machine-learning techniques to construct measurement from text/script
  • Conduct literature reviews in areas of Fintech, social media and business
  • Responsible for data analysis and statistical analysis of the research studies
  • Compile information and write research reports• assist to prepare manuscripts for publication in targeted journals
  • Any other research-related work assigned

Qualifications

  • PhD or Master degree in Computer Science, Information System or related fields (computing/programming), Undergraduate of Master degree and research experience in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Statistics is a plus
  • PhD degree holder or candidates in Accounting or Finance with strong programming skills (such as R and Python)
  • Strong knowledge of computer science foundations and fundamental / information studies
  • Knowledge in programming languages, knows how to work with operating systems and how to maintain databases, especially in Big Data Management
  • Strong research background
  • Competency in the use of statistics and econometrics in research
  • Ability in using and/or programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, Stata, R, Python)
  • Well-organized and able to clearly summarize and present information and data obtained
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Keen interest in accounting literature, keeps up to date with relevant research publications
  • Knowledge in accounting or training in accounting/finance research is a plus
  • Experience in co-ordinating research grant projects are also valuable
