This role is an opportunity to shape the development of The Bridge – Lincolnshire’s new facility for R&D in engineering and materials science – which opens in July 2022. Supported by the European Regional Development Fund and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and hosted by the University of Lincoln, The Bridge is a £6.3m new-build facility with advanced facilities for interrogating materials augmented by modern training and networking environments. With a dedicated commercial team, the project is designed to catalyse growth and productivity in Greater Lincolnshire.

The Bridge provides a focus for a developing regional R&D ecosystem driving research and innovation in key sectors of the regional economy: e.g. metals manufacturing, chemicals and petroleum, rubber and plastics, power generation and storage and electronics. Alongside its physical focus, the Bridge community are developing mechanisms for businesses to pool and coordinate resources, and engage in partnership for R&D.

In facilitating business-to-business and business-to-academia interactions, this position is an opportunity to enable commercial organisations to access support for their growth.  The role will be focus on creating innovative R&D and workforce development programmes that address client needs, developing business networks, and managing client relationships alongside shaping the development of this new Centre.
