THE OPPORTUNITY – President and Vice-Chancellor

Reporting to the Board of Governors, the successful President and Vice-Chancellor (President) at Lakehead University will serve as the leader of the institution and create a path forward to achieving its Vision, Mission, and Belief. Together with a talented and dedicated team of administrators, the President will shape and advance Lakehead University’s desire to grow, innovate, and forge lasting relationships. The following positions report directly to the President:

  • Provost and Vice-President Academic
  • Strategic Advisor to the President
  • Vice-President of Administration and Finance
  • Vice-President of Research and Innovation
  • Vice-President of External Relations
  • Principal, Orillia Campus
  • General Counsel and University Secretary
  • Chief of Staff
  • Chair, Truth and Reconciliation

The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer, the Chair of the Senate, and serves as a member of the Board of Governors and Ogimaawin Indigenous Education Council (OIEC). Based in Thunder Bay, the successful candidate will promote Lakehead University by maintaining and developing mutually rewarding relationships with all its constituents in Northwestern Ontario, Simcoe County, the province of Ontario, nationally and internationally. By providing academic and administrative leadership throughout the University, the President will continue to foster Lakehead’s abilities and reputation in teaching, research, and community outreach.
