THE POST – Senior Technician Biological Sciences
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician managing the Biological Sciences area within the School of Health and Life Sciences at our Lanarkshire Campus. In this busy role as Senior Technician, you will provide specialist technical support across the School with special emphasis on the areas of Biological Sciences, including demonstration of concepts and techniques in support of learning, teaching, research and enterprise activity. You will have oversight of Sport and Exercise Sciences consumable spend. You will have line management responsibility for Biological Sciences team members.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Educated to Degree level in a discipline relevant to the role, or with equivalent experience in a similar role with contemporary knowledge of development in Biological Sciences.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to fulfilling duties with the ability to work in a team environment, supporting colleagues and sharing expertise. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) to conduct effective relationships and the ability to interact effectively with people at different levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
