The department of History in the Division of Arts and Humanities, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on research and administrative activities related to the field of Middle Eastern Studies.

This position is for a research assistant who will carry out both research and administrative activities related to the field of Middle East studies. In particular, the research assistant is expected to support research on court culture, patronage and philanthropy.  The research assistant will help finalize a book project on court culture in the Abbasid period. Research assistance is expected to cover a wide range of issues including researching the role of women in patronage and philanthropy in medieval and modern times. Applicants must be able to complete the work, the research assistant needs to exercise excellent research and organizational skills, demonstrate interpersonal communication competency.
