Role Description

About the Role

This role will lead and coordinate marketing campaign activity in support of fundraising campaigns and other ARD marketing activities to the alumni audience with the aim of inspiring Cranfield University alumni, donors and prospects to engage with and support the university in a number of ways, including using their alumni services, participating in volunteering, and giving philanthropically.

These activities will bolster and enhance the University’s reputation, forge closer links with our communities and stakeholders, mobilise our Cranfield community of over 75,000 graduate alumni, along with staff and students to achieve our strategic vision, and build Cranfield’s fundraising capabilities - increasing income and donor numbers, and supporting the stewardship of relationships with donors and stakeholders.

Key to success in this role is developing robust, multi-channel communication plans, project/campaign management skills, and securing buy-in and ownership for these activities from internal and external partners and stakeholders, including Pro-Vice-Chancellors, Directors of Theme, academic staff, and marketing colleagues throughout the University. Tact and sensitivity are a must.

About You

You should have significant relevant experience gained in a marketing communications environment as well as the ability to work towards tight deadlines.

You will:

  • Have a strong track record in creating, planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns.
  • Have significant and demonstrable experience of copywriting and content creation.
  • Be experienced in managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and obtaining buy in and support for projects
  • Have strong project management and planning skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Have proven ability to take initiative and will have experience of being a member of a team.
  • Enjoy collaborative working and building effective relationships with internal and external colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers to meet objectives.

Experience of fundraising and/or the Higher Education section is advantageous.
