Professor Manthia Diawara in the Division of Arts and Humanities, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant for the production of his documentary feature film. The successful candidate will research historical archival footage, and assist with miscellaneous tasks involved in the editing process. In addition, the candidate will assist in the teaching of Professor Diawara’s class, titled “Practices of Documentary: Record and Representation” in Spring 2022.
The successful applicant must have a BA in Film and New Media or related fields, and experience in conducting documentary research, from the pre- to post-production stages. Training in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and/or Final Cut Pro X is preferred, as well as prior teaching experience. Proficiency in the English language is required.
