The Department of Management and Marketing (MM) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Business. MM is dedicated to providing cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills for our students in three key areas of business — ManagementMarketing, and Management Information Systems. MM offers a full range of programmes leading to the awards of Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Business Administration. MM currently has around 60 full-time academic staff who are actively involved in research, consultancy, and management development work with businesses in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and internationally. MM is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the community.

The Management Information Systems (MIS) discipline of the Department invites applications for faculty position at the rank of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor. We have a team of faculty members who regularly publish their research in top-tier journals such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems and Management Science. Our team members are engaged in exciting research projects such as AI & Big Data, Blockchain & FinTech, eHealthcare, digital transformation, platformization, social commerce and m-commerce. Recently, we successfully secured a senior IS scholar, Prof. Kai H. Lim, who has extensive experience in producing seminal research articles, senior editorship in leading journals, and nurturing junior researchers and Ph.D. students. The appointee will be required to

(a)  engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise;

(b)  supervise research students;

(c)  secure external competitive research grants;

(d)  teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and

(e)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his delegates.

Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.

Preference will be given to those with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals.

Conditions of Service

The compensation package, teaching loads, and research support are highly competitive. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor / Professor levels.
