Description

The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint two Post-Doctoral Associates, in the research group of Dr. Qingtao Chen. The proposed research will be interdisciplinary on the interactions between topology, geometry and physics. This research position is for two years with a possible extension to a third year.

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Physics. Preference will be given to people working on Quantum Invariants of knots/links as well as 3-manifolds (Volume Conjectures, Categorifications of invariants, Quantum Gravity, quantum 6j/10j symbols, topological quantum computing etc), Elliptic Genera/Topological Modular Forms/Elliptic Cohomology and Topology related to Condensed Matter Physics (quantum Hall effect etc). The successful candidate will have freedom in choosing his/her own research topic, but regular communication with the mathematical physics group at NYUAD is expected. NYU Abu Dhabi offers a stimulating research environment led by a distinguished research community. The terms of employment are very competitive. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
