We are an expanding school within a university that has established a reputation as one of the most dynamic and fastest growing in the UK.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Psychology to add to our existing strengths in research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio. 

Applicants will have a PhD in Psychology. We are looking to recruit individuals with a strong and developing track record of research who, at the same time, can demonstrate commitment to teaching excellence and innovation. Experience in teaching quantitative statistics in R, Jasp or Jamovi is required. 

We welcome applications from outstanding individuals with an interest in any area of Psychology. You will be an integral member of our programme teams and member of one or more of the following research groups: 

  • Perception & Cognition
  • Development and Behaviour
  • Psychological Health and Wellbeing
  • Forensic Psychology
  • Social Psychology

You will be an excellent team player as well as showing leadership in developing research projects and impactful research as well as leading your own research agenda in line with the University research strategy. You will be able to demonstrate how you will be ready for future REF submission through a publication record and research trajectory that demonstrates high quality. There will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and expertise through staff development courses and events.

The School of Psychology has a purpose-built building with an extensive range of dedicated research equipment including EEG, TMS, Eye tracking (Tobii, Eyelink, DPI, Ober and VSG), Transcranial Doppler Ultrasound imaging and a 3D body and face scanner. There are also specific labs dedicated to Psychobiology, Sensorimotor Integration, Sleep and Infant research and resources to support comparative / animal based research in the field.
