Job Description
The candidate will perform Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM)-based imaging and spectroscopy, including cathodoluminescence, on monolayer and multilayer films. The candidate will be working closely with students and collaborators in NUS and A*STAR on handling 2D materials for STEM sample preparation. After optimizing the sample preparation, aberration-corrected STEM and 4D STEM measurements will be performed. 4D STEM data processing can be supported by other members of A/Prof. Bosman’s team.
Qualifications
The candidate is expected to hold a PhD degree (or has successfully submitted his/her PhD thesis), and will need to have a solid background in advanced electron microscopy for materials analysis. Hands-on experience with aberration-corrected STEM will be required, as well as demonstrated skills in (S)TEM sample preparation. The candidate is expected to work efficiently and supportively with students, research fellows, and collaborators.
Covid-19 Message
At NUS, the health and safety of our staff and students are one of our utmost priorities, and COVID-vaccination supports our commitment to ensure the safety of our community and to make NUS as safe and welcoming as possible. Many of our roles require a significant amount of physical interactions with students/staff/public members. Even for job roles that may be performed remotely, there will be instances where on-campus presence is required.
Taking into consideration the health and well-being of our staff and students and to better protect everyone in the campus, applicants are strongly encouraged to have themselves fully COVID-19 vaccinated to secure successful employment with NUS.
