This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the development of one of the country’s most successful and innovative Pharmacy schools. The Medway School of Pharmacy is a unique collaboration between the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent and is based on the historic Chatham Maritime campus in the Medway region of Kent. Since opening in 2004 it has become recognised as an established school of pharmacy, by the regulator The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
The Medway School of Pharmacy’s mission is “to produce, through innovative teaching and research delivered in a supportive and caring environment, high-quality professional graduates committed to lifelong learning”. Student care and support is therefore an essential part of the School’s culture
The changing role for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals continues to allow the School to also develop and refresh a portfolio of postgraduate courses, including a multidisciplinary Postgraduate Certificate in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing and a Master’s programme in Medicines Management and the MSc in General Pharmacy Practice for hospital pharmacists. As a dynamic school it has a commitment to the provision of lifelong learning and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and it offers a range of short courses for pharmacists and other health care professionals.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our Faculty Senior Team as Head of School of Medway School of Pharmacy. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC/Executive Dean) / Deputy Dean, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the School that covers a wide range of disciplines. You will provide strong academic leadership and vision for your School driven by a commitment to Teaching and Student Experience, Research and Knowledge Exchange. Working to embed and represent the values of the collaboration between the Universities. Promoting and fostering strong inter connected relationships.
Successful candidates will act as an advocate for change and will have significant experience at senior manager level within an education or industry -based organisation of comparable size and complexity.
