Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Research Scientist within UCD School of Business
As part of the GUARD project (Drug Interdiction using Smart Drones) we are undertaking research in artificial intelligence and machine learning as components of the smart drone systems including vision and flight-planning tasks. Technologies under consideration include evolutionary computation and neural networks. The GUARD Project is funded under the Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund managed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment and administered by Enterprise Ireland.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team working collaboratively on the project and will join the UCD Natural Computing Research & Applications Group, which is based in the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Ireland. An essential part of the project will be spending time collaborating with the partners of the GUARD project consortium.
This is an advanced academic research scientist role, where you will conduct a specified programme of research under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator and will also require capacity for independent and self-directed research and scholarship and its management.
Salary Range: €39,133 - €50,529 per annum
Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
