Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Specialist Clinician in Veterinary Surgery within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.

The Section of Small Animal Clinical Studies of the School of Veterinary Medicine in UCD has created one permanent clinical post to support the continued growth and strategic planning in the small animal surgery area. The appointment is subject to qualifications and experience of the candidates.

The UCD Veterinary Hospital includes state of the art equipment including CT, MRI, interventional radiology, full endoscopy and arthroscopy, laser and a radioactive iodine suite. Ancillary supports include rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Applicants must hold a degree in veterinary medicine registerable with the Veterinary Council of Ireland or a specialist degree with which an application for limited registration with the Veterinary Council (see www.vci.ie) could be made. The successful applicant must be an active specialist in Small Animal Surgery with European (ECVS) or American (ACVS) board certification.

The successful candidate will contribute effectively to the Section and the UCD Veterinary Hospital and in particular, will participate fully in undergraduate (clinical) teaching, in postgraduate residency training, and in the Small Animal Surgery Service provided by the Hospital.

Salary: € 90,000 - € 120,000 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
