The Position

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Audiology in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 512398), to commence on January 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract.  An exceptionally outstanding candidate at Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to approval.

Applicants should possess (i) a Ph.D. degree in Audiology or a related discipline; (ii) clinical audiology experience with children and/or adults; (iii) tertiary teaching experience; and (iv) a proven track record in, or strong potential for, research, scholarly publications and competitive external funding.  Those with qualifications and experience acceptable for professional registration with the Hong Kong Institute of Audiologists are preferred.

The appointee will teach mainly in and provide services to the speech and hearing sciences and audiology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts with colleagues across and beyond the University.  He/She will also supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research and knowledge exchange, undertake clinical practicum supervision, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
