Department of Fashion & Textiles

The Department of Fashion & Textiles is the school’s largest department, offering design, leadership & strategy, and marketing education, at undergraduate, taught-postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The department supports one of the largest international student communities in Europe studying fashion leadership, management, and strategy programmes, whilst sustaining a long-held reputation for the nurturing of high-level design practice and craft-based skills. The department supports a diverse and inclusive research environment, with notable strengths in fashion & textiles and cultural history, critical luxury studies, sustainability, and e-textiles and materials innovation.

About the role

This role focuses on maintaining our growing national and international reputation in Fashoin Marketing and Branding, Fashion Leadership, including Digital marketing, social media marketing, new technologies, fashion marketing, branding, and digital contexts.  The role will focus on high quality education delivery that complements the school and university’s broader education and research strategy.  This is an excellent opportunity to join an ever-growing school, that embraces education, research, and enterprise, focusing on the student experience, curriculum development, innovative teaching practices, as well as collaborating with industry partners. 

There are two positions available. These posts are being offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 2 years.

About You

You will have experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. A key aspect of this role is the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the school, as well as contributing to curriculum development, and aligning your work to the university and school’s education and research strategies.

With a focus on Fashion Marketing and Branding, Digital strategy, Marketing, and Management and Research skills, you will be part of a dynamic department focusing on sustainability, fashion marketing and branding education delivery, research practice, research methodologies, and overall fashion marketing and  leadership across different sectors, including the luxury sector.  You’ll become a part of a dynamic group of academics that are leading the way in fashion branding and leadership, embracing the digital arena from both an education delivery and scholarly perspective. Relevant academic and industry experience is welcomed.

You will contribute to postgraduate research supervision as well as education delivery across the department.
