The Role

The Macquarie Medical School sits within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences and has responsibility for two prestigious educational courses, the Bachelor of Clinical Science and the graduate-entry Macquarie MD, as well as contributing to major studies within the Bachelor of Medical Sciences. The School is seeking to appoint a clinical academic at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, depending upon the background, qualifications and achievements of the successful applicant. Part-time or full-time appointments would be considered depending upon level, and we have a preference to make an appointment to the Teaching and Leadership academic job family with the aim for the role to take on leadership roles to convene units of study primarily within the Macquarie MD.

About You

The successful candidate will be a practicing medical clinician with experience, interest and passion for medical education including clinical education. Applicants from any clinical discipline in the broad areas of medical or surgical practice are welcome. There are opportunities and a preference for the successful applicant to undertake clinical practice within the University's health service, MQ Health.

Alternatively, applicants already practicing in one of Macquarie's key clinical partners - the Northern Beaches or Royal North Shore Hospital - would be considered. The Faculty has strong educational expertise, and the applicant will have opportunities to participate in educational scholarship that positions Macquarie as a leader in the delivery of innovative academic medical education.

The role reports to the interim co-head of the Macquarie Medical School, Professor Vincent Lam. MD.
