Department of Fashion & Textiles

The Department of Fashion & Textiles is the school’s largest department, offering design, leadership & strategy, and marketing education, at undergraduate, taught-postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The department supports one of the largest international student communities in Europe studying fashion leadership, marketing, management, and strategy programmes, whilst sustaining a long-held reputation for the nurturing of high-level design practice and craft-based skills. The department supports a diverse and inclusive research environment, with notable strengths in fashion & textiles and cultural history, critical luxury studies, sustainability, and e-textiles and materials innovation.

The role 

This role is part of the school’s Fashion and Textile department.  The department includes programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of Fashion leadership, including, Fashion Management, Fashion Marketing and Branding, Fashion Marketing with Management and Luxury Brand Management, as well as our practice-based programmes Fashion Design and Textile Design.  This role focuses on maintaining our growing national and international reputation in Fashion Leadership, including marketing, management, Branding and the digital context in this ever-evolving area.  The role will focus on high quality education and research delivery that complement the school and university’s broader education and research strategy.  This is an excellent opportunity to join an ever-growing school, that embraces education, research, and enterprise, focusing on the student experience, curriculum development, underpinned by research, as well as collaborating with industry partners. 

About You

You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering an excellent standard of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as well as being able to develop a variety of learning and teaching approaches to deliver and excellent level of education. A key to this role is being able to work collaboratively with several stakeholders, both internal and external to the school, as well as integrate high quality teaching and research activities to ensure the university and school’s strategies are met.  If you have a growing and consistent national and international reputation in Fashion marketing, management, sustainability, research methodologies and overall fashion leadership across different sectors this role is for you.  Become a part of a dynamic group of academics that are leading the way in fashion leadership. Both relevant academic and industry experience is welcomed.
