Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role, where you can have a significant impact on the development of your colleagues? The Library & Arts Directorate at the University of Southampton is recruiting a Training & Development Manager, and you could be just the person we need.

You will be developing and coordinating training programmes across our team of 170 staff, managing our training budgets, booking in external trainers, facilitating and delivering training yourself, and auditing / reporting on training compliance. You don't need to have a library or arts background, but you will need to be organised, proactive, and an excellent communicator as you’ll be working with staff at every level of our organisation.

In addition to the training responsibilities, you will also be leading on our staff engagement activities and you’ll be line managing staff in our Administration Team. This is a brand new role, following a recent restructure of our organisation, so you’ll have scope to develop the role as well as developing yourself.

The Library & Arts Directorate covers the University Library (split across four sites), plus the John Hansard Gallery and Turner Sims Southampton concert hall. The teams are varied, but share a common focus on excellent customer service, innovation, and teamwork. We’re also committed to promoting equality and diversity, and embedding inclusive and anti-discriminatory practice in all we do.
