About the role

Research Services is responsible for providing integrated administrative and management support for researchers and research activity across Western, with a strong focus on research strategy and development, income generation, ethical review, and the coordination of research student training and development.

The primary role of the Ethics and Integrity Project Officer is to:

  • Assist the ethics officers (both human, and animal and biosafety ethics officers) in supporting the ethics committees (Human Research Ethics Committees [HREC and Low & Negligible Risk Committees]; Animal Care and Ethics Committee [ACEC] and the Biosafety and Radiation Safety Committee [BRSC]).
  • Provide operational and educational support in ensuring the responsible conduct of research at Western Sydney University.
  • Support the Director, Research Impact & Integrity to maintain records relating to integrity.

The position will maintain an overview of issues related to human, animal ethics, and biosafety and radiation safety ethical review for quality assurance purposes. The position will assist in developing high-level reports to meet the University’s external obligations and internal reporting requirements for ethics, integrity, and research impact.

This is a full-time ongoing position based at the Werrington South Campus. Provision can also be made to work remotely for a percentage of the time.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong command of written English and an eye for detail. Your ability to multitask in a high-volume and time-critical environment is imperative to being successful in the role. A commitment to excellence in service delivery will be highly valued.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 6 $100,670 to $107,945 p.a. (comprising Salary of $85,067 to $91,215 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
