We are looking to recruit a Senior Research Fellow to work with existing qualitative data for an ESRC-funded research project on ‘Parental social licence for operational data linkage and analytics to identify families for service intervention'.  The study is filling vital gaps in knowledge and will inform public understanding about: rationales for data linkage and analytics for intervention, consensus for data linkage and risk modelling among parents of dependent children, how different social groups of parents understand the issues involved, and the experiences of parents engaging with family service interventions.

This part time (24 hours a week/ 0.7FTE) 7-month position will include taking responsibility for the day-to-day conduct of the project; consultation and negotiation with statutory and voluntary sector organisations, and advisory group members; liaison with communication/dissemination agencies; and involvement in analysis, writing up and dissemination to both academic and non-academic audiences.   You will work as part of a team with the project directors, Professor Rosalind Edwards (Southampton) and Professor Val Gillies (Westminster).

You will have a PhD in a relevant social science discipline and have demonstrable excellent qualitative methods skills and experience.  You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, able to explain complex ideas clearly.  You will need critical knowledge of debates about data linkage and risk modelling in the field of family and child services.

You are welcome to make informal inquiries to Professor Rosalind Edwards:

This post is offered on a part time basis (24 hours a week), with a flexible work pattern.
