• The main purpose of this postdoctoral position job is to deliver a state of the art simulator of intersubband transport and optical response of superlattices and QCLs based on Nonequilibrium Green’s Functions calculations.

3. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

• To provide high quality research support and undertake internationally competitive research aimed at publication thereby contributing to the academic and research mission of the University.
• Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) and Detector (QCD) & Controllable GHz-THz Nonlinear Optics in Semiconductor Superlattices with Applications to Noninvasive Medical Diagnostic Sensors
• The main task for this Postdoctoral position job is to deliver a state of the art simulator of intersubband transport and optical response of superlattices and QCLs based on Nonequilibrium Green’s Functions calculations.
• The resulting algorithms, computer codes and simulators will be the property of the PI, Professor Mauro Fernandes Pereira and Khalifa University.  The postdoctoral fellow will not have the permission to copy or use the simulator without permission.

Operational Responsibilities

• The posdoctoral fellow will be assigned the standard operational responsibilities which will include (as necessary): involvement in research activities (mostly scientific programming) arrange for meetings, searching e-libraries to identify books, articles or other publications; compiling, organizing, summarizing and/or presenting requested information; and conducting any other explorations, investigations, and studies relevant to furthering the research project.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• The postdoctoral Fellow will be asked to help supervise PhD’s students linked to the project.

• PhD Degree in Physics

Required Experience

• Nonequilibrium Green’s Functions or Boltzmann Equation Solvers; Semiconductor Theory ; Bandstructure Calculations; Numerical & Programming Methods
