About the opportunity

As a Senior Project Officer, you will provide project advice and operational support to achieve the Research Portfolio's objectives.

You will work with a range of staff and provide project management support to multiple work streams within a multi-faceted program of work within the Post Award Strategic Initiatives Team. If you're someone who enjoys working in a team of like-minded individuals on innovative improvement projects, this is the role for you.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work collaboratively with two Project Managers and the Director of Research Post-Award, along with Centre Manager/s and Director/s as required
  • provide support and project management advice during the project lifecycle for Research Portfolio projects
  • develop and implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor and control progress
  • identify and analyse emerging risks and threats to the program implementation
  • work with key stakeholders on implementing new process improvements to maximise project efficiencies
  • develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with multiple project stakeholders
  • support the mapping of key project resources required to establish and commence projects
  • Coordinate the management of contractual and business development matters for Research Portfolio projects

About you

  • tertiary degree and/or relevant experience in project management, business administration or finance
  • previous experience within either research, medical or similar field is highly desirable
  • experience working with researchers on Intellectual property and Commercialisation is highly desirable
  • experience managing a diverse group of reports and stakeholders on large or complex projects
  • previous experience in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation
  • knowledge in planning, analysis and communications with the ability to work towards strict deadlines
  • effective team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • experience in financial management of projects; managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure.
