Position Summary

$66,844 to 72,093 p.a.

Reporting To:
Operations Manager - NT

Under routine to general direction and reporting to the NT Operations Manager, the Operations Support Officer will undertake a range of tasks pertaining to general portfolio administrative duties that support the activities of Rural and Remote Health across a variety of programs offered by Flinders University including; short course training programs, health student placements and accommodation, and the Northern Territory Medical Program.

Key Position Responsibilities

The Operations Support Officer will be accountable for:

  • Providing operational and administrative assistance in the delivery of a range of services supporting Northern Territory Medical Program, clinical student placements, facilities, and onsite course delivery.
  • Being a first point of contact for internal and external customers (including contractors, staff and students) and manage room booking requests by providing quality customer service in a positive and professional manner.
  • Assist with bicycle and vehicle distribution for students and visiting staff.
  • Assisting, coordinating and/or preparing purchase orders for goods and services, goods receipting, accounts payable and supplier invoicing.
  • Oversee purchasing of office supplies, catering necessities, and other building consumables.
  • General facilities support including, room setup for onsite courses, manage key register, and maintaining commons areas.
  • Support in other areas to help cover during staff absences or times of heightened activity.
  • Continuously improving processes and procedures and maintaining associated documentation.
  • Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the position as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University.

Key Position Capabilities

  • Completion of Diploma level qualification with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience delivering high quality, customer focused, administration and support services within educational, clinical, governmental, or private industry environments.
  • Knowledge of administrative systems and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work individually and/or as part of a team, operate within the framework of established procedures and work routines and exercise judgment in the sequencing of tasks, to deliver set objectives.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures and maintain associated documentation.
  • An ability to understand and apply a range of relevant policies and procedures within a large and complex organisation.
  • Northern Territory Driver’s Licence is required.

Northern Territory Government legislation (the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007) now requires all individuals in child related employment or whose duties involve, or are likely to involve, contact with a child, to hold a valid ‘Working with Children Clearance’ (Ochre Card). This position involves child related work and is assessed as requiring a Working with Children Clearance/Ochre Card.

A National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will be required by Flinders University before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
