The School of Education and Communities is a highly successful provider of education, early childhood, special needs, social work, community work, youth work, teacher education and professional training programmes. We also play a key role in the provision of education services and professional development throughout East London and beyond. We promote strong research culture, building on our reputation for innovation within education and communities.
Due to the expansion and development of the School of Education and Communities, we have a range of positions available. We are looking for outstanding lecturers, researchers and practitioners who can inspire and motivate both students and colleagues through academic excellence. We seek colleagues who have extensive social work practice experience (for example through working with children and young people, adults, and families) and are strongly committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for students. These are full-time positions; however, we will consider job share and fractional positions for the right applicants.
As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Education, you will support students and be expected to lead a range of education-related modules across courses at both our BA and MA modules and potentially move into course leadership. With good knowledge and a strong commitment to de-colonising the curriculum and anti-racist pedagogy, you will be able to enhance student experiences and improve the attainment gap between BAME/Global Majority and white student peers.
At the University of East London, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a working environment at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. You can look forward to a warm, sincere welcome, genuine camaraderie and mobility in an institution led with passion, visibility and purpose. Your impact, resilience and sense of collegiality will directly contribute to the University’s future and those of the students whose lives you will touch and change forever. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family-friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.
